| Brandon Thompson's Autobiography: I was born and raised in Whittier, California. My grandfather introduced me to martial arts at a very early age, but I didn’t start training until I became six years old. Practically born in the Kali Academy of Mixed Martial Arts I would always watch my grandfather Sifu/Guro Bud Thompson teach and explain the arts to all of his students. Finally in 1994 the day after I turned six years old my grandfather asked me once again if I would like to train at the Kali Academy of Mixed Martial Arts and I answered yes. My grandfather at the time said that you do not have train if you choose not to. However, if you still choose to train there is no quitting and you will train. He asked me again, would you like to train at the Kali Academy of Mixed Martial Arts. Again I replied yes and ever since that day of June 1, 1994 I have been training at the Kali Academy of Mixed Martial Arts. At the Kali Academy of Mixed Martial Arts over the years I had the pleasure of training with some of the worlds finest and most recognized martial artists such as Sifu/Guro Dan Inosanto, Sifu/GuroTeddy Lucay Lucay, Grandmaster Pendakar Paul De Thouars, Guru Steve Plink, Punong Guro Edgar G. Sulite, Sensi Mitts Yamashita, Professor Salem Assli, Pedro Carvalho, Sifu Tim Tackett and BJJ Champion Dale Frank. I also had the honor and privilege of training several hours with former undefeated UFC Heavyweight Champion, three time undefeated King of Pancrase and former commentator for Japan’s Pride Fighting Championship from Holland, Bas Rutten. I have also pleasure of talking to Dan “Hollywood” Henderson the current Pride Fighting Middle Weight and Light Heavyweight Champion, also I have spoken with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson from Pride Fighting and now UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and Former UFC Middleweight Champion Frank “Twinkle Toe” Trigg. As of now I am apprentice instructor under Sifu/Guro Bud Thompson, waiting for my associate instructorship, and plan to be certified under Sifu/Guro Dan Inosanto as well, my grandfathers mentor the man that certified my grandfather twenty eight years ago. I am also a full time MMA fighter and hope to pursue a career in MMA fighting. I am presently teaching at Kali Academy of Mixed Martial Arts, with the hopes of one day taking over for my grandfather and to keep passing down the arts to the next generation. My grandfather does not plan on retiring anytime soon, so that may be sometime……….
